Process
How we do motorcycles
-
Bring the parts, not the bike
Wheels, forks, calipers and brackets come to us off the motorcycle. We stopped taking complete bikes for turn-key service: too many variables and too much liability to do it right.
-
Prep
Perfect work starts with perfect prep: a lightly etched bare-metal surface with every mating surface and thread masked.
-
Protect the details
VIN stampings are protected so they stay readable. Steel parts get a zinc primer for rust resistance.
-
Coat
Powder coated and oven cured. Chrome Harley parts coat well when the chrome holds up to sandblasting; if it lifts, we can sometimes blend it, billed at $125 an hour.

Wheels and tires
This is where we want the motorcycle work to go. Independent tire service is $35–65 per tire, we sell tires through our wholesale accounts, and we can get almost any wheel; we beat most tire and wheel quotes, so send us the one you have. For browsing, we point people to Wheel Pros, SD Wheel, Tire Rack and T Sportline. Car and truck wheels are on the wheel powder coating page.
Still on the menu
Wheel bearing service, fork seal service, brake caliper coating and rebuilds, and other bearing work, all with the part off the bike. Chain and sprocket, suspension rebuilds and bolt-on parts on a complete motorcycle are no longer something we take in.
Chrome
We do some chrome parts, Harley especially, when the chrome holds up to sandblasting without peeling. If it lifts, it can sometimes be blended at our $125-an-hour labor rate; if not, the chrome has to be chemically removed first. Chrome wheels are usually not worth the risk.
