What is Powder Coating?
Powder coat is a common finish used in a wide range of industries and applications for its quality and durability. Appliances, automotive items, wrought iron gates, bicycles, and fire-extinguishers are just a few examples.
It is applied as an electrically charged powder using a specialized spray gun. The parts are then moved into an oven and cured for a set amount of time. There are both decorative and protective finishes available to best suit certain projects.
Why Powder Coating?
“It provides a more durable finish than liquid paints can offer, while still providing an attractive finish. Powder coated products are more resistant to diminished coating quality as a result of impact, moisture, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and other extreme weather conditions. In turn, this reduces the risk of scratches, chipping, abrasions, corrosion, fading, and other wear issues.”
